Wanda Kay Barker Buck, 70, of Grantsboro, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
A devoted member of Reelsboro Pentecostal Holiness Church, Wanda’s faith was evident in all that she did. She was instrumental in initiating and leading the Rainbows youth group at the church that she nurtured with love, creativity, and devotion. Her influence touched countless young lives and left a lasting mark on her church family.
Wanda loved to travel and never passed up the chance to go out to eat – especially when it meant sharing good food and laughter with friends and family. She cherished time spent with her church community and treasured every moment with those closest to her.
A strong-willed and dedicated homemaker, Wanda took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. Because she stayed at home while raising her son, her house became a gathering place for neighborhood children, who found comfort and kindness within her walls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Elizabeth Barker and her beloved husband, Roy Hughes Buck, Jr.
Wanda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roy H. “Hugh” Buck III and Nichole; her brother, James R. Barker, Jr. and wife, Kathy; and her precious granddaughter, Taylor Sadler and husband, Briley; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws who will forever cherish her memory.
A funeral service to honor Wanda’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10th at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home, with Rev. Alan Woodard officiating. Entombment will be in Greenleaf Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Wanda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the love she poured into her family and community.
