Wanda M. Dahl

On April 30, 2024, Wanda Dahl passed away at the age of 90.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2024, with visitation starting at 11:30-1:00, at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Pastor Laura Overbo will officiate with Lynn Osthus as the organist.
Interment will be at Goodwin Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eric Comstock, Brett Fuglsby, Gary Kjenstad, Kelly Comstock, Reese Comstock and Neal Kjenstad.
Wanda Marie Adams was born on September 10, 1933, at her grandparent's (John and Grace Anderson) homestead in Alto Township, Roberts County, SD. She was the first of three daughters born to Curt and LaVera (Anderson) Adams.
Growing up, Wanda enjoyed riding horses. She would ride her horse, Daisy, to school without a saddle. In recent years, she especially spoke fondly of her horses. Wanda roomed in Webster during high school, where she would graduate. She eventually moved to Minneapolis where she worked various jobs, including as a switch board operator. After spending a couple of years in the big city, Wanda returned to Watertown where she would meet Curtis Dahl at a dance on the east shore of Lake Kampeska.
Curt and Wanda lived on farm near Goodwin until 2009, when they moved to Watertown. They were able to stay together when they moved to Stoneybrook Suites in 2017, then on to Jenkins Nursing Home. They celebrated 68 years of marriage on March 3rd.
Besides reading, playing pinochle, bowling, baking, and gardening, Wanda loved crafts. She enjoyed teaching her daughters and granddaughters how to bake, sew, knit, and crochet. She was a 4-H leader and as her nest emptied, she spent years volunteering at various places including the Prairie Lakes Hospital gift shop and the Redlin Center.
Wanda will be dearly missed by her husband, Curt, her two daughters, Jeanie (Gary) Kjenstad of Brandt and Vicki (Dale) Fuglsby of Sioux Falls, four grandchildren, Kristi Kjenstad (Gary Knee), Kelly (Eric) Comstock, Brett Fuglsby, and Cami Fuglsby (Andy Buchholtz), two great grandchildren, Drew and Reese Comstock, two sisters, Carolyn Avnaim of Walnut, CA and Audrey Hubbard of Elkhorn, NE, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Jason in 2010, along with one nephew and three nieces.
