Wanda P. Dixon passed away October 7, 2025 at the age of 71. She was born January 22, 1954 to the late Willie G. Posey and Geraldine Bearden Posey.
Wanda's cooking talents were a testament to her creativity and nurturing nature. She found immense joy in baking cakes and pastries, often scouring the internet for new recipes, always eager to add her unique twist. Every year, without fail, she took the lead in hosting family holidays, where her delicious creations brought people together. Those gatherings will forever echo the warmth of her laughter and the sweet aroma of her treats.
A dedicated member of Valley Grande Baptist Church, Wanda’s involvement was a reflection of her deep faith and commitment to her Christian values. She participated wholeheartedly in church activities, particularly relishing her time with the “Young At Heart” group. Nowhere was her passion more evident than in the kitchen, where she shined while helping with the Vacation Bible School program, nurturing the faith of young ones with her gentle spirit.
Wanda was not only a devoted wife, but her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family. She reveled in the simple joys of life, often found on the floor, surrounded by her grandchildren, indulging in play and laughter. Her capacity for love and her engaging personality created a beautiful legacy that will remain with her family forever.
In her leisure time, Wanda embraced nature, finding serenity in camping trips and fishing adventures, where she enjoyed reeling in crappie, bream, and catfish. Gardening was another of her beloved hobbies, where vibrant flowers flourished under her care; she even once nurtured a koi pond, a testament to her loving touch for all living things.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Keith Dixon; children, Lynn (Joey) Campbell, Kristie (Ronald) Mitchell and Windy (Trey) Phillips; grandchildren, Jonathan Campbell, Austin (Brittani) Campbell, Tiffanie (Cody) Griffin, Eli Phillips; great-grandchildren, Jameson Champion, Teigan Griffin and Kaylee Williams; siblings, Aubrey (Jean) Posey, Norma (James) Day, Sandra (Jimmy) Barrett and Bruce (Bertha) Posey and numerous nieces and nephews.
