Wanda Jean Dunham

Wanda J. Dunham, age 68 of Elgin, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. Wanda Jean Chrismon was born June 25, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Larry and Mildred (Noah) Chrismon. She grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, then moved to Austin, Minnesota, where she graduated from Austin High School in 1972. She was united in marriage to Dennis Dunham at her mother’s home in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 17, 1972, and together had five children. In 1978, Wanda heard the gospel and made her choice to serve God. She was a wonderful example to her family and community of an unwavering faith in God. In addition to Austin, the couple also lived in California for a few years before moving to Elgin, Minnesota, where they spent the last 31 years. Wanda was employed with the Plainview Elgin Millville School District as a paraprofessional. In her leisure time, she enjoyed baking and cooking, cross-stitching, gardening, photography, and volunteering. Wanda especially loved raising her children and grandchildren. She had a big heart and enjoyed making people’s day. Wanda will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Dunham of Elgin, MN; children, Sabrina (Darren) Ohl of Albert Lea, MN, Chad Dunham of Elgin, MN, Leticia (Keith) Budd of Rochester, MN, Caleb Dunham of Poznan, Poland, and Zachary Dunham of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Lane (Allyson Stanek) Ohl, Wesley Ohl, Vander Ohl, Maverick Dunham, Mason Budd, Eliana Budd; siblings, Larry Jr. (Pricilla) Chrismon of Trezevant, TN, and Guy Chrismon of Nashville, TN; and step-brothers, Jay (Dina) Powers, Calvin Powers, and Nick Powers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Mildred Chrismon; and sister, Sherry Monsey.

A funeral service for Wanda will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch in Stewartville, Minnesota. Visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, Minnesota, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch on Saturday. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Preston, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
