Walkertown - Wanda Gayle Jones Harvey, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Forsyth County. She was born on September 30, 1942, in DeLand, FL to the late Benjamin and Nellie Jones. Gayle will be remembered for her giving nature and kind spirit. She was incredibly selfless and had a habit of placing her own needs behind those around her, especially her family. Gayle was the matriarch of her loving family, and proudly held the title of mom, wife, grandmother, and caregiver. She was strong-minded and independent, as well as adventurous. She spent her free time fishing, going on cruises, and traveling. She had express adoration for Ireland, New England, and especially Alaska, which was her favorite of them all. She will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Gayle is preceded in death by her loving husband, Franklin Monroe Harvey, Sr.; a son Franklin Monroe Harvey, Jr.; a brother, Dean; and a sister, Marilyn.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Mark Harvey (Lori) and Matthew Harvey (Laura); Four grandchildren, Bruce Harvey, Destinie Harvey Reynolds, Aubrey Whitaker, and Tony Howell; as well as 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous other extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Francis Smith officiating. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
