Wanda Faye Hicks

Wanda Faye Hicks, born on March 23, 1966, in Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2025. Wanda loved her family very much. As a loving cook, she cherished the time spent preparing meals and gathering with her family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Montcalm High School, Wanda was known for her kind and welcoming spirit. She effortlessly made everyone feel at home, a quality that will be remembered fondly by her loved ones. Wanda valued her role within the family and nurtured connections with them.

Wanda is survived by her mother, Mildred Jane (Johnson) Conley, of Bluefield, WV; her three children: Michael Douglas Kinley of Martinsville, IN, Gregory Allen (Greg) Kinley of Dublin, VA, and Jessica Lynn Kinley of Bluefield, WV. She is also survived by her brothers, Rick Conley of Rock (Browning Lambert Mtn), WV, and Sherman Conley of Charleston, WV, as well as her sister, Sheila Roberts of Bluefield, WV. The love she had for her five grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, filled her life with joy.

Wanda was preceded in death by her father, John Bert Conley, and her dear siblings and relatives, including Jimmy Conley, Barbara Fitzgerald, John (Wesley) Conley, Alfred Conley, and her brother, Danny Conley. She also mourned the loss of her niece, Courtney Conley.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on October 10, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Homes, located at 3431 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701. A funeral service will immediately follow at 10:30 AM.
