Nobles Funeral Home, with deep sorrow, announces the passing of Ms. Wanda Elaine Jackson, aged 72, who departed on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Meadows Hospital in Vidalia surrounded by the compassionate care of Community Hospice. A lifelong resident of Appling County, Ms. Jackson devoted her days to tending the family farm alongside her uncle Billy Pearce and excelling in the art of hairdressing. Her passion for music shone through as she played the piano and nurtured a remarkable talent for growing vibrant flowers, particularly adorning her home with her beloved roses. Ms. Jackson's enduring love for softball painted a picture of her dedication to the sport.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, James Jackson and Earlene Pearce Jackson Holliday. Cherishing memories of her kind spirit are her three children: Andy Hartley (Melissa), Chris Lightsey (Demi), and Andrea Hess Gooch (Tommy); seven grandchildren: Jackson Hartley, Anna Kate Hartley, Maisey Borders (Cohen), Madison Edenfield, Noah Hall, Gavin Lightsey, and Maddox Lightsey; as well as three great-grandchildren: Heath Edenfield, Scarlett Edenfield, and Beau Edenfield. Additionally, she is survived by her three brothers: Jimmy Jackson (Anne), Terry Jackson (Kim), and Jamie Jackson (Redonnia).
The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Ms. Wanda Elaine Jackson will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating the service will be Reverend Robbie Tomberlin, Reverend Jamie Jackson, and Reverend David Deen.
David Williams will render musical selections.
Following the service, Ms. Jackson will be laid to rest at Tomberlin Cemetery with reverence and respect. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects one hour prior to the service on Monday.
The role of active pallbearers will be fulfilled by Jackson Hartley, Noah Hall, Brock Jackson, Ed Tharpe, Tommy Gooch, and Terry Jackson.
All attendees present are recognized as honorary pallbearers for their collective support during this time.
