Wanda Louise (Taylor) Kennedy, age 83, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at St Anthony's Health Care. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 22 at New Road Church of Christ with Alan Ritchie officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 10 a.m.
Wanda was born October 26, 1940 to Samuel Gilbert Taylor and Brucilla Elmer (McKinney) Taylor in Kaufman, Texas. She married Wade Oliver Kennedy, Jr. on November 4, 1961. They had four children; Diana (Eric) Stephenson, Daphne Louise (Doyle) Coleman, Wade Oliver Kennedy lll (Elizabeth) and Samuel Oliver Kennedy. They have six grandchildren; April Hoff, Erica (Steven) Allen, Amber Hoff, Shelbie (Chris) Cowman, Ben Stephenson, and Averile Kennedy. Wanda also has six great-grandchildren; Carter, Tess, Bryson, Cash, Kason and Lilly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews that she adored.
She worked at Southland 20 plus years and then retired to the Waco area. Wanda was a beloved member of the New Road Church of Christ and will be greatly missed by those who knew her and were touched by her Godly life. May all of us treasure the sweet and precious memories we have of this great lady!
