Wanda Ellen Robertson Harvey Lodholz, 84, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, went to be with our Lord and Savior, following a brief illness. She departed from this life on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born July 1, 1938 in Coleman, TX, daughter of the late Edwin W. and the late Lee Elnora (Benthall) Robertson. Wanda's early life included moves around the US, spending some years in Texas, Arkansas, and California, to name a few. In her teens, they settled in Missouri, near St. Louis. She graduated from Ferguson High School in 1956.
Wanda's working life included serving several corporations, including work as a cost consultant for the Brown Shoe Co. of St. Louis, MO, and Barad & Co. of Salem and later St. Louis, MO.
Wanda was an avid reader, and enjoyed puzzles and games. She was a firm believer in Jesus, and in recent years was an active member of the "Golden Agers" and the Loyal Builder's Sunday School class at Trinity United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. Her greatest joy was time spent with her large, extended family. She was well known for her sense of humor, which has been passed along to her descendants. As one granddaughter put it: she never met a pun she didn't like. We loved her for it, and she loved all of her family dearly. In fact, she often reminded her children, when told they loved her, that she loved them FIRST.
Wanda married James O. Harvey on February 23, 1957. The union lasted until James' death in 2000, and produced three children. Wanda married William J. Lodholz on March 8, 2012, and this union blessed her with three more adult children.
Wanda is survived by her husband, William J. Lodholz of Murfreesboro, TN; two daughters: Sally (William) Long of Dow, IL, and Beverly (Thad) Bishop of Kalamazoo, MI; four sons: Thomas (Carol) Harvey of Lewisville, TX, Timothy (Shelley) Harvey of Gladewater, TX, Ronald (Lorna) Lodholz of Pittsboro, NC, and Steven (Karen) Lodholz of Franklin, TN; 27 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a brother and sister-in-law: Jerry (Beverly) Robertson, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews, along with their families.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin W. and Lee Elnora (Benthall) Robertson; her first husband, James O. Harvey; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Sue (James) Young, Virginia (Joe) Roemisch (Joe) Cross (widowed twice), Dorothy (Thomas) Crum, Sylvia (Dale) Cannon; one infant sister; and one nephew, Edward Young.
Cremation services will be performed by Smith Family Funeral & Cremation of Murfreesboro, TN. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
