Wanda L. Lowe passed away peacefully in her home on August 9, 2025, in Granbury, TX at the age of 87. Wanda was born on Sept 4, 1937, in Garland, Arkansas to Hollis and Nona Aaron. She was an only child. She grew up in Texarkana, Texas and graduated in 1955 from Texas High School in Texarkana, TX. In high school she was a proud member of the THS Tiger marching band. As a talented majorette, Wanda traveled with her high school band to NYC and Washington D.C. After graduation, Wanda married and moved to Grand Prairie, Texas where she started her family and raised, in her own words," three delightful daughters." She raised her three daughters with love and devotion, much of the time as a single mother. Those daughters raised 8 delightful grandchildren, who eventually gave her 10 extremely delightful great-grandchildren. She was dearly loved by them all. Wanda was employed by Bell Helicopter in accounting and retired in 1993 after 28 years with the company. She obtained her Associated Degree in 1993 from Mountain View College as well. In 1980, one of the highlights of her life was her marriage to William (Bill) Lowe. After marrying Bill, she acquired bonus children and grandchildren. Bill and Wanda became active members of the Dallas Paleontological Society. Together they would spend time traveling the U.S. and other countries attending gem and mineral shows, displaying and selling fossils and amber jewelry. In 1995 they moved to Pecan Plantation in Granbury TX and settled into a slower paced life on the Brazos River. They soon became members of First Presbyterian Church of Granbury. Wanda loved her church family and would joyfully go on to serve as an Elder on the Fellowship Committee. Wanda was known for being an avid reader throughout her lifetime and loved her murder mystery books. She often said she enjoyed trailing Bill on his fossil digging jaunts; he dug, and she read. She was a frequent visitor to her local public library. Other interests and hobbies included, plants, sewing and appliqueing projects, travel, attending the horse races, playing Hand and Foot with friends, and interior decorating. Wanda absolutely loved being a mom and grandma/Mamaw and Gigi. When asked what she was often most proud of, she'd say "my girls becoming women I like". She would routinely have her grandkids visit for weeks at a time in the summer. She made Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays extra special and created a lifetime of family memories. Her life, radiant smile and gentle spirit, leaves a lasting impact on her family, friends, and all who knew her. Wanda was greeted in heaven by her husband of 44 years, Bill Lowe, her parents, Hollis and Nona Aaron, and son-in-law Thomas Petersen. If cats go to heaven, then Stubby Kat and Kitty Kat. Wanda leaves behind her girls: Lisa Humphreys (Mark), Lynda Leach (Barry), Lynette Elkins (Danny), bonus children Terry Lowe (Becky), Brad Lowe. Grandchildren: Clay Humphreys (Katie), Cole Humphreys, Shelby Humphreys, Jessica Brost (Matt), Blake Hopkins (Kim), Branden Elkins (Sharla), Whitney Elkins, and Laura Rudder (Josh), along with her 10 "extremely delightful" great-grandkids: Carter, Hannah, Kaelyn, Ava, Layla, Izzy, Camy, Kate, Braden, and Harper.
