Sayreville
Wanda Lucia Massaro of Sayreville, formerly of South River, peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, June 22, 2025. She was 95 years old.
Born and raised in Perth Amboy to the late Casimir and Mary Tenderenda, Wanda relocated to South River for 25 years and then settled in Sayreville, where she resided for over 45 years. After briefly working for Bell Atlantic, Mrs. Massaro found her calling as a homemaker, lovingly taking care of her husband and extended family. She was a gentle soul who was guided by her spiritual and holy nature. While she never had children of her own, her many nieces and nephews were always cared for and made to feel like they were hers. Undoubtedly, Wanda is at rest in heaven, dancing with her loving family and friends. May she rest in peace.
Wanda was predeceased by her beloved husband James Massaro and by her sister Irene Garretson. Surviving are her many loving nieces and nephews Maria Garretson of Sayreville, Nicole Garretson of Sayreville and her partner Randy Peguero, Megan Delosangeles and her husband David, Aniyah Corelli and husband Caleb, Sofia Peguero, Daniel Peguero, and Julian, Amelia, Liam, and Elias Delosangeles.
Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30am on Monday from M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River with a 10am Funeral Mass at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will immediately follow at St Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Calling hours at the funeral home will take place on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
