Wanda Lou Minor

Wanda Lou Thompson Minor passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born on July 8, 1942, in Parrish, Alabama, to the late Lowell Mason Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Ensor Thompson.

Wanda found great joy in her role as a stay-at-home mom before embarking on a fulfilling career in retail management. Later, she devoted herself to caring for her aging parents. Known affectionately as the "Shoe Lady," Wanda had a remarkable gift for finding the perfect fit. Her life was deeply rooted in her strong faith in Christ, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selfless service. Her family and friends will forever cherish her radiant smile, her servant heart, and the boundless love she shared with all.

She is survived by her children, Anthony (Dawna) Minor of Fort Worth, TX, Ginger Minor Mathis of Chattanooga, TN, and Lorie Minor of Chattanooga, TN; her grandchildren, Rachel (Nathan) Dunn, Brandon (Chantel) Minor, Hannah Minor, and Anderson Minor; her great-grandchildren, Nate Dunn and Bella Grace Dunn; and her siblings, Annette Pearson and Rosemary (Paul) Kitchens.

Wanda is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Sue Thompson Key; her infant daughter; and her grandson, Richard Sabine Jr.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now fully whole, fully healed, and fully home. They are forever grateful for the gift of her life.

A celebration of her life will be held at East Brainerd Church of Christ in Chattanooga, TN, on Tuesday, March 31, at 2:00 PM. Flowers may be sent to the church.
