Wanda Lee Moore, age 97, of New Johnsonville, TN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly, TN. She was born on August 21, 1928, to her parents Herbert and Pearl Rogers Gidcome in Goodrich, TN.
Wanda devoted her life to nurturing others, working as an at-home babysitter and providing exceptional care for many children. Her home was a sanctuary for love and laughter, where she instilled values of kindness and generosity in the young lives she touched. Those who were fortunate enough to know her will remember her as a hard worker who took immense pride in her contributions to the lives of others.
A big supporter of the military, Wanda, held deep respect and admiration for those who served. Her heartfelt support for the armed forces was a testament to her enduring commitment to her country.
In her personal time, Wanda found joy in various hobbies. She was an avid gardener, celebrating the beauty of nature and nurturing her beloved plants with remarkable care. Fishing was another pastime that brought her tranquility and happiness. Additionally, Wanda was skilled in sewing, often crafting items that were treasured by family and friends alike. Notably, her unique practice of digging up dogwood trees from the side of the road for transplanting into her garden showcased her love for nature.
Wanda leaves behind many friends who remember her fondly for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. Her legacy of hard work, compassion, and generosity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in Ebenezer Cemetery with Bro. Tony Burns, Sr. officiating.
Interment will follow.
