Wanda Jean Page, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away on July 23, 2025, in
Providence, RI, at the age of 56.
She was the wife of the late William T. S. Page.
Born in Southbridge, MA, to the late David and Elizabeth (Hazzard) Cable, Wanda was a cherished member of the Nipmuc Indian Algonquin Tribe, she carried her Native American heritage with pride throughout her life.
Wanda was a lifelong resident of Providence, where she cultivated a home filled with warmth and joy. She was an amazing mother, a loving sister, and a doting grandmother, whose presence was a source of comfort and happiness to all who knew her.
Her children, Tyrell, Troy, Kai, and Raekwon Cable, were the center of her world, and she extended that boundless love to her grandchildren, Aniyah, Amir, Anthony, Nathan, Jesslyn, Azaria, Tyrell Jr., Josiah, Avel, Leveon, Winter, Spirit, and her great-grandchildren, Emery and Leilani Smith.
Professionally, Wanda dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her compassionate spirit led her to work in many nursing homes, where she provided comfort and care to those in their twilight years. Her colleagues will remember her as a woman who brought laughter and kindness into the workplace every day.
Wanda's interests were a reflection of her love for her family and her culture. She was a strong supporter of Native American rights and took great pride in her roots. Her creative spirit found joy in diamond art, and she could often be found immersed in her latest project, surrounded by family and friends.
A lifelong member of the Faith and Hope Baptist Church, Wanda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She attended the church since childhood, and it was there that she cultivated her deep sense of community and belonging.
Those who knew Wanda will remember her as loving, funny, and kind. Her laughter was infectious, her smile could light up a room, and her generosity knew no bounds. Wanda Jean Page lived a life that was rich in love and laughter, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Wanda is survived by her children; Tyrell Cable, Troy Cable, Kai Cable, Raekwon Cable, her sisters; Joyce Cable, Pauline Crespo, her grandchildren; Aniyah Cable, Amir Cable, Anthony Shaw, Nathan Cable, Jesslyn Vega, Azaria Vega, Tyrell Cable Jr., Josiah and Avel Vega, Leveon Keney, Winter Smith, Spirit Cable, and great-grandchildren; Emery Smith and Leilani Smith. She additionally leaves many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Walker, and her brother, David Cable.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the A. A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street,
Providence, RI 02904, with visitation from 9:00-11:00 AM, immediately followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00 AM.
Burial will continue in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet RI.
As we bid farewell to Wanda, we celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will continue to inspire kindness and joy in the hearts of those she touched. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and laughter she leaves behind.
