Wanda Marie Pyle

Graveside services for Wanda Pyle, 83, of Athens, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Pyle Prairie Cemetery in Kaufman County, Texas officiated by Bro. Frank Upchurch. Services will be under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pyle passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2024, in Athens, Texas.
Wanda Marie Pyle was born December 25, 1940, near Dallas, the daughter of Henry Sampson Tanner and Lucille Emaline (Hodge) Tanner. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Crossroads and loved reading and researching genealogy. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family, sewing and crocheting. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Darrell Pyle and daughter in law Shelia Fullingim Pyle.
Survivors include her husband Bobby Joe Pyle of Athens; three children, James Glen Pyle and wife Vickie of Mabank, Robert Lee Pyle of Athens, Susan Shortnacy of Brownwood; two siblings, Vida Polley and husband Frank of Gun Barrell, Sammy Tanner and wife Delores of Seven Points; grandchildren, Mitzi Scheck, Jennifer Pyle, Kerry Pyle, Robert Pyle Jr., Dustin Pyle, Amanda Carey, Bobby Jacobs; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation. Will be held prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family.
