Wanda Sherrill

Funeral services for Wanda Thompson Sherrill will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia with Chaplin Walt Brown officiating. The burial will follow at Old Athens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Wanda was born on January 7,1947, in Mead Oklahoma to Ivy and Juanita Holder Thompson. She passed away on May 14, 2024, at her home in Arcadia, with her loving family by her side.

Wanda was a dedicated and God-fearing woman. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church, until she was not able to attend. She loved her garden and tending to her rose bushes. Wanda worked as a clerk at the old Pit Stop in Arcadia, where she loved talking to anyone, and everyone. Prior to working at the Pit Stop she drove over the road with her husband Jimmie for 8 years, and boy did she out truck those boys with her 4'11 self. On the road she went by Lady Trimmer. Wanda was an extraordinary woman who dearly loved her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Sherrill, Sr., son Jimmie Sherrill, Jr, special daughter Esther Sherrill, brother Charlie Thompson and wife Brenda, sisters-in-law Dianne Sherrill and Betty Sue Sherrill,  granddaughter-in-law Brittany Crihfield, great grandson Hunter Hercules, and her best friend Jean Carpenter. 

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter Rhonda Sherrill, grandchildren John Douglas Futch, Jr., Tiffini Sherrill, Leiann Trantham and husband George, Anthony Crihfield, Stephanie Sherrill and husband Kody McAdams, Dori Appels and husband Ronnie, great grandchildren Dakota Hercules, Jayden Eagle, KK Hercules, Jamesyn Futch, Emmie Trantham, Paisley McAdams, Bailey Appels, Lillith Crihfield, Gracie Trantham, Addie Appels, Theo Appels, Lainey McAdams, Arthur Crihfield, and Jaxon McAdams, brother-in-law Jerry Sherrill, great aunt and uncle Jack and Jo Watson, special nieces Brittani Basham and Brandi Kirk, and by numerous other loving family and friends.

Honoring Wanda as pallbearers will be Kody McAdams, Doug Futch, Jr., Ronnie Appels, Jacob Cash, Lee Trantham, Kevin Basham, Josh Carpenter, Ladayrun Manning, and Rocky Cash.
