Wanda Watkins Simon

Our beloved Wanda Watkins Simon, 75, of Decatur, Georgia passed away on the morning of April 7, 2022 at Emory Decatur Hospital with family at her side.
Wanda was born in Austell, Georgia on November 17, 1946 to Raymond and Lee Edna "Dot" Watkins. She graduated from South Cobb High School in 1964. After working for several companies, in 1988 she began working for her favorite college Georgia Tech and after 22 years retired in 2010. Wanda loved the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from the time she was a child. She was a GT Football season ticket holder for over 40 years. As a hobby, Wanda was a professional clown for over 20 years performing at children's birthdays and at her church in the clown ministry. Later in life, Wanda battled and defeated cancer 3 times. Having a huge heart, she also loved dogs and cats.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Simon; and beloved family members: brother, Ray Watkins and partner, Eve; sister, Jill Kerns,; niece, Jenny Bagley and husband, Chris; nephew, Jeff Watkins and wife,Haley; great nieces and nephews, Tyler Bohn and wife, Stephanie, Emily Bohn, Jarret Watkins, Carys Watkins, Jace Watkins, Jed Watkins; her best friend, Janice Camp and husband, Clyde; and her grand doggie, Munster.
Although Wanda has passed, her wonderful smile, loving unique personality, and cheerful laugh will never be forgotten. A Celebration of Life party is being planned for Wanda by her family. In her honor, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or Atlanta Humane Society.
