Wanda G. Sullivan

Wanda G. Hamby Sullivan, age 89, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Bear Creek Nursing and Rehab in De Queen, Arkansas.

Mrs. Sullivan was born on May 28, 1936, in Grannis, Arkansas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in De Queen for 65 years and was an active member of United Women of Faith, where she held various state and local offices. She was a member of P.E.O. She was a public-school teacher for 32 years and loved her students. Wanda loved her pets and birds.

Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her parents, Amon Quincy and Iris Stemple Hamby, and her husband of 63 years, Walter Melvin Sullivan.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Sherry Sullivan of Wickes, Arkansas, one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Chet Cowling of De Queen; granddaughter, Kaydee Cowling of De Queen; two step-grandchildren, Trent Cowling of Rogers, Arkansas, and Jarod and Allie Cowling of De Queen, Arkansas.

A memorial service for Mrs. Sullivan will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2025, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Copley, Gayla Toften, and Billy Sullivan officiating.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family would like to thank Bear Creek Nursing and Rehab and Elite Hospice of Mena for the wonderful care.
