Wanda Traughber Obituary

Wanda Elaine Traughber

March 10, 1933 - August 3, 2025

Wanda Elaine Traughber of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025. She was 92 years old.

Wanda was born on March 10, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Jacob and Dora Veto Schmier. She was the third child of five children.

Wanda was raised in Idaho Falls and attended grade school, junior high, and high school there. She played on the girls basketball team throughout high school.

Wanda married Clyde Traughber on January 21, 1951, in the Presbyterian Church in Idaho Falls. They later moved to Roberts to be near Clyde's parents. They also lived in Salmon, Idaho; Dillon, Montana; and Jerome, Idaho. Together, Wanda and Clyde had nine children. After 33 years of marriage, they divorced and Wanda moved to Twin Falls, Idaho.

In Dillon, Wanda belonged to the Dillon Jaycees and a bridge club. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and helped with Cub Scouts and 4-H. She also sold Avon.

Over the years, Wanda worked at Tupperware, Lamb Weston, and the College of Southern Idaho's Office on Aging. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mom and grandma to her to children and grandchildren.

Wanda loved to garden and took care of her yard and flowers. Roses were her favorite! She always had a beautiful yard.

Wanda loved her kids and grandkids and their visits. For her 80th birthday, her children gave her a sweet Lhasa Apso puppy. Wanda named her "Sadie Sue" and they became inseparable.

Wanda is survived by her sister, Joyce Gellings; brother, Jerry Schmier; seven sons, Clyde "Greg" (Becky) Traughber of Jerome, Dave (Kellee) Traughber of Jerome, Mike (Theresa) Traughber of Jerome, Jake (Jennifer) Traughber of Jerome, Paul Traughber of Twin Falls, Jeff Traughber of Hansen, and Rick (Shari) Traughber of Jerome; two daughters, Tammy (Jerry) Meine of Dillon, Montana, and Chris (Kenny) Allison of Boise; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Dora Schier; two brothers, Don Schmier and Jacob (JR) Schmier; brother-in-law, John Gellings; one great-grandson, Walker Meine; and former husband, Clyde Traughber.

Special thanks to the staff at Ashley Manor of Jerome and nurses with Visions Home Health and Hospice for their excellent support and care.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome.
