Warren Baxter Duncan, 84, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Ralph Hugh Duncan and Louise Duncan Rankin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special aunt, Margaret Dellinger. Mr. Duncan was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was retired from CSX Transportation, with 38 years of service.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Anne Thomas Duncan; his children, Sabrina Duncan Strange and Dana Duncan Young and her husband, Brian; his grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Young, Jarod Allan Strange, and Kaymon Leigh Young; his brother, William Powell Duncan and his wife, Joyce.
The Duncan family will greet guests from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Sunset Road Baptist Church, Charlotte. A service to celebrate Mr. Duncan's life will begin at 11:30 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte.
Memorials may be made to Sunset Road Baptist Church, 2317 Sunset Rd., Charlotte, NC 28216 or to Levine & Dickson Hospice House-Huntersville, 11900 Vanstory Dr., Huntersville, NC 28078.
