Warren David Edwards, 82, of Smyrna, North Carolina, passed away into his Heavenly home on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Carteret Health Care.
A funeral service to honor Warren’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 7th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Bill Hooper. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. Born on December 17, 1943, in Wayne County, North Carolina, Warren was the son of the late Samuel and Goldie Edwards. He spent his life grounded in hard work, faith, and quiet dedication to the people and community around him.
Warren worked as a steel fabricator, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic and practical skills. He took pride in honest labor and a job done right.
He found joy in the simple things—being outdoors, tending to his garden, and spending time on the water, especially when fishing. These were happy times and were often shared with those he loved.
A devoted Christian, Warren’s faith was the foundation of his life. He attended Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church, where his commitment to God and his church family was evident in both word and deed.
Above all, Warren was a family man. He will be remembered as a loving husband of 63 faithful years, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished great-grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marie Edwards; sons, Alan David Edwards of New Bern, NC and Jonathan Edwards (Allison) of Morehead City, NC; brothers, Don Wayne Edwards (Debbie) of Princeton, NC and Dennis Wilson Edwards of Benson, NC; grandchildren, Joshua Edwards (Dora), Brittany Edwards, and Nikki Goding (Ronnie); and great grandchildren, Eliot Edwards and Evelyn Edwards.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Marie Edwards, and brother, Billy R. Edwards.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Smyrna Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 307, Smyrna, NC 28579.
