Passed away on May 19, 2024, at the age of 91. Predeceased by his parents, Harry and Dora [Loeb] Heilbronner; granddaughter, Sarah Heilbronner; and brother, Leslie Heilbronner. Survived by his wife, Joyce A. [Aroeste] Heilbronner; children, Jerome (Lisa) Heilbronner, Lawrence (Katie) Heilbronner-Kolthoff and Kevin (Erin Brauer) Heilbronner; grandchildren, Brian, Heather, Madeline, Olivia, Sam, Jakob and Jonah; nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Warren's legacy of charity and community service, in his adopted home of Rochester and throughout NY state, will continue long after his passing. As a child in Stuttgart, Germany, only 6 years old at the time, along with his brother and parents, he escaped Nazi Germany.
His family eventually settled in Perry, NY/Wyoming County, where his father worked as textile engineer for many years. Warren would graduate from Perry High School in 1950 and work toward a law degree, attending both Cornell and Columbia Universities.
Following a short stint in the US Army, he moved to Rochester in 1958 to practice law, a labor of love which continued for 65 years, most recently with the firm Boylan Code in Rochester.
He never forgot where he came from and how he got to the US. As a member of the Committee on Holocaust Awareness and Information, he spoke with high schools, colleges and various groups on the relevance of the Holocaust in today's world.
Among the numerous organizations he supported, Warren is a past President of Temple B'rith Kodesh, served 29 years on the Union of Reform Judaism (URJ) Board and was most proud of his nearly 50 years of volunteer work with The Arc of Monroe and The Arc New York.
Interests outside of work and family included, golf, tennis, bowling, softball and vacations in warm climates.
Funeral Services will be held on WEDNESDAY May 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM in The Main Sanctuary at Temple B'rith Kodesh (2131 Elmwood Avenue). for a map to Temple.
A procession will follow to White Haven Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3 – 6 PM at Temple B'rith Kodesh.

I met Warren as a young associate fresh out of law school. I will always remember his kindness in answering my many questions, as well as the little tv he had in his office to watch Bills games. My thoughts are with Warrens´s friends and family and the Rochester community.

I met Mr. Heilbronner when I worked at the Arc of Monroe as the secretary to the Board of Directors & Guardianship Committee. He was always friendly, soft spoken and fiercely supportive of the population we served.

I have known Joyce and the Heilbronner’s for over 50 years. A wonderful and giving family. Warren was a pillar of the community. When I moved to Naples, Fl. Joyce would come to visit me and George for many years in a row. I want to express my deepest sympathy to the whole family.Anita Pinckney [email protected]

I remember growing up in Brighton and playing with Kevin and the Heilbronner brothers. Joyce was a ray of sunshine, and Warren was always smiling because he knew he had a dynamo for a wife. Sorry for your loss. Howie Snyder
