Warren "Butch" S. Marion, Jr., 84, of Cumberland, MD passed away at his home Thursday, February 19, 2026.

He was born May 28, 1941 in Cumberland to the late Warren and Kathleen Marion Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary E. Wilhelm; a brother, John William Marion; and his wife, Lynn Marion.

Butch attended Fort Hill High School and then immediately joined the U.S. Navy in 1962. He served as a navigator on destroyers USS Conway and Forrest Royal, during the Vietnam War and Cuban Conflict. Following his service to our country he had a career with General Motors working in assembly until his retirement. He then moved to Florida with his wife, and began a second career that he loved with WalMart. After his wife's passing he then moved back to Cumberland and continued working with WalMart locally, he never missed a day of work until he retired several years ago.

Surviving are his siblings, Virginia E. Lewis, George E. Marion and wife Donna, and Robert Marion and wife Margaret; his extended family; and many friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland.

Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 11am to Noon on Thursday, February 26th a funeral will begin at 12pm with Pastor Tom Woods officiating.

Internment will be in the MD Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap and military honors will be accorded by Vietnam Veterans Association of America Chapter 172 Honor Guard.
