Warren Lee Moore, 77, husband of Dorothy "Dot" Schroder Moore, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at his home.
Born December 2, 1947, in Hannah, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Warren Lewis Moore and Mattie Benton Moore.
He was a graduate of South Side High School in Florence, SC and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He later served in the South Carolina National Guard. Warren dedicated many years of his professional life to human resources, serving as Director of HR at The Milliken Plant of Abbeville for 18 years and later Retiring as Vice President of Human Resources for Greenwood Mills after 20 years.
An avid golfer, Warren had the unforgettable opportunity to play at Augusta National as a retirement gift-an experience that marked the pinnacle of his golfing journey. He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Gus, and cherished every moment spent with his grandsons, especially watching them play sports.
He was of the Baptist faith and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by his daughter, Wendi Ruth and her husband Matt of Greenville; two cherished grandsons, Harrison and William; brother-in-law, Bill Schroder of Spartanburg; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Brenner of Williamsburg VA.; brother-in-law Retired Commander Ronald Jones of Savannah, GA; Many Nieces, Nephews, many friends, neighbors, and golfing buddies.
He was predeceased by two brothers, B.T. Moore, Roger Moore, and a brother-in-law Donald Jones
The family will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home Friday evening, July 11, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Greenwood Humane Society, P.O. Box 49776, Greenwood, SC 29649.
