Warren Richard Rutterbush beloved husband, father, and paw peacefully passed away on 9-13-2025 at the age of 81 in Metropolis IL. Warren was born to the late Merlin, and Edna (Crimin) Rutterbush on 8-9-1944 in Pontiac Michigan, where he met the love of his life Merra Sue Thornton through a family friend in 1962. They we Married on June 27, 1964, and raised three beautiful children in Waterford Michigan. He provided for his family as a crane operator at General Motors for 35 years, in Pontiac Michigan. After Warren retired from General Motors, he and Susie (Merra) then moved to Metropolis IL, to build their dream home, where she was from. He then went to work for River Ag so he could have some extra play money, as he called it. Warren, and Susie (Merra) loved to go junking, (antique shopping), on the long car rides, and out to dinner. He was a devoted husband, father, and paw, he had great love for his dog Grundy his little buddy. Warren was a simple man, he had patience, and kindness like no other. Warren, was very mechanical, and talented when it came to building and fixing anything. All he had to do was listen to any engine, and he could tell you what was wrong with it. He could build pretty much anything you wanted. He loved muscle cars; his first muscle car was a 1958 Biscayne Chevrolet, that him and Susie (Merra) would race up, and down Woodward Avenue in the good old days. He was a chevy man through and through. He also loved to watch old westerns; John Wayne was his favorite actor. He loved his chocolate donuts, cookies, and his diet Coke. Warren leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled. Warren is survived by his wife Merra Sue Rutterbush of 61 years. Daughter; Brenda Renee Oakley (Lee Oakley). Son; Ronald Richard Rutterbush. Daughter; Pamela Christina Landerschier (Donald Robert Landerschier JR.) Grandchildren; Cheyanne Kathleen Rutterbush, Ashley Renee Oakley, Donald Robert III & Dillan Richard Landerschier. Two brothers and one sister. Warren was preceded in death by his mother and father Merlin and Edna Rutterbush. A private viewing will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 Muir funeral home 2650 South VanDyke Rd. Imlay City, MI. The Burial will follow immediately after the service, at Metamora Cemetery.
