Warren Schave
Rev. Dr. Warren Harold Schave, 90 of Tallahassee, FL passed away January 3, 2026. He was born on January 31, 1935, in Detroit, MI to Marvin Schave and Mabel Schubring.
He worked from the age of 8 doing odd jobs and putting himself through school. He attended Concordia school and college from 1948-1956. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in 1959. From there he started Grace Lutheran Church in Lamar, CO and then in 1964 went to be the pastor of St Paul Lutheran Church in Canon City, CO. He then went back to school in Denver CO to go into the Federal prison system becoming a chaplain, where he served in many different Federal prisons. He earned his Doctor of Divinity in 1985. He retired in 1994. Afterwards doing a 5 yr chaplaincy at Quincy FCI and was a long-term care ombudsman. He loved the Lord and serving Him!
Warren was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Schave, his mother, Mabel Michalczuk, brother's Richard Schave and Alan Schave, son, David Schave and grandson Colin Miller.
He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Miller of Crawfordville, local grandchildren Jennifer Canfield (Shawn), Casey Miller (Mollie), Matthew Miller (Erika) and great grandchildren Nadia Canfield, Kenley Miller and Damien Canfield. A sister-in-law, Lolly Schave, nieces and many cousins.
Celebration of Life will be held January 31, 2026 11 a.m. at St Stephens Lutheran Church, 2198 N. Meridian Rd, Tallahassee FL 32303.
