Warren Tackenberg resident of Hauppauge, Former Mayor of New Hyde Park passed away on September 18, 2025 at the age of 91.

Warren is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years Edith who was also his best friend. Loving father to son Richard (Gen) Tackenberg, daughters Patricia (Glen) McKechnie and Joanne (Michael) Burke and adored grandfather to Kayla, Samantha and Keira McKechnie. Brother to Dr. Robert (Lorraine) Boswell, sister Rosemary (Jim) Conti and deceased brother Walter (Elizabeth) Boswell. A champion of local governments Warren was President of the New Hyde Park Civic Association for 6 years and served on the New Hyde Park Village Board for 24 years, serving the last 8 years as Mayor. Warren also served as President of the Nassau County Village Officials Association and as their Executive Director for 18 years.
