Warren Wilson Obituary

Warren Kimberley "Kim" Wilson, 72, of Tallahassee, Fla,. died in the comfort of his home on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024.
Born in Barwick, Ga., on Aug. 2, 1952, to Edna Earle Manley Wilson and John C. Wilson, Kim spent his childhood on the family farm. He briefly moved to Denton, Texas, and then settlaed back in Monticello, Fla.
In 1987, Kim met the love of his life, Sue. After six short weeks of dating, they were married. They spent 37 beautiful years together building their homesite, Wilson Woods, and raising three amazing children: Michael, Sarah, and William.
Building came naturally to Kim. As an accomplished carpenter, Kim built all over the Florida Panhandle, including St. George Island, Dog Island, Tallahassee and Monticello. Wilson Woods was his respite.
Over the years, Kim would find peace and happiness being out on Lake Lafayette in his boat calling in the ducks and becoming The Great Gator Whisperer, then cooking up a feast for family and friends to enjoy – his specialty, cooking amazing food and telling unique stories of years' past…changing a few details, here and there for reasons only Kim and his buddies would know.
Kim was a great man, husband, father and Poppy who will be deeply missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Wilson; his three children, Michael (Lori) Thompson, Sarah Wilson and William "Willy Bo Billy" Wilson; grandchildren, Bradley (Taylor) Beech, Jackson Beech, Carson Beech and Maggie Wilson; and his brother, Edward (Theresa) Wilson; along with many extended family and friends.
We would like to thank Crystal and Big Bend Hospice for their care. Crystal was his nurse, a bright light during this dark time.
It will be a little quieter in Wilson Woods, but we will hear you in the sounds of the ducks hitting the lake, the grunt of the gators and the pop of a cold Coca-Cola.
The family will receive friends on Nov. 2, 2024, beginning at 10 a.m. for a Celebration of Life starting at 11 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Monticello, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Celebrate Recovery, Killearn Methodist Church. Make checks payable to KMC, with Celebrate Recovery in the memo line.
