New Haven- Watson A. Scott

Watson A. Scott 74, died Thursday July 31, 2025 at the University Of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness.

He was born May 31, 1951 in Addison, VT the son of William and Alberta (Martin) Scott.

Watson was a graduate of Vergennes High School, class of 1969.

He married his 7th grade sweet heart Debra Rheaume on June 8th, 1968.

He loved spending time on his farm in New Haven where he enjoyed working seven days a week by processing firewood, tinkering on his old tractors or improving the land. He was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them as well.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Scott; by his children, Peter W. Scott and Dione Scott and her companion David Leonard; by his grandchildren, Bethany Paige Scott and her husband, Nate Luong, Walker Scott Whittemore and Denver Charles Whittemore; by his great-grandchildren, Bentley Watson Luong and Royce Oliver Luong; by his siblings, Marilyn Richer (Leonard), William J. Scott Jr. (Donna), Marjorie Jerger(Pete), Lynda Bolduc, David Scott, Charmaine Godin (Kenny) and Deborah Preston (Bill). Also by his brother-in-law, Louis Rheaume(Connie) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Watson was predeceased by his parents; by his granddaughter, Olivia Mae Scott; by his siblings, Leonard Scott, Gary Scott and Sandra Scott.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 9, 2025 at 11 A.M. at the Victory Baptist Church in Vergennes.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Victory Baptist Church at 862 U.S. Route 7 Vergennes, VT 05491 or to Homeward Bound Addison County Humane Society at 236 Boardman Street Middlebury, VT 05753.
