Wayne Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schiefelbein Funeral Home on Mar. 6, 2025.
Wayne J. "Turbo" Anderson, 65, passed away on March 1, 2025, at Mayo Health Systems in Osseo. Wayne was born to Dean and Doris (Lyga) Anderson on April 17, 1959, in Whitehall, WI.
His early years were spent in Hampshire, IL until his family moved back to Wisconsin and eventually in 1969, to the family farm in Strum. Here he learned about the love of nature and mechanic work. He graduated from Eleva-Strum High School in 1977. He moved back to Hampshire, IL and worked as a machinist for a few years. He then moved back to Strum. He worked at Elk Creek Feed Mill, as a machinist at MRS Machining in Augusta, owned and drove semi-truck for a few years and then worked as a machinist in Ashley Furniture in Arcadia. He retired from Ashley in 2015 due to health issues.
Wayne was on the Strum Unity firefighter team. He enjoyed hunting and in his later years with health issues his friend, Luke, as well as his brothers Greg and Steve set up a hunting shack and made sure he got out for deer hunting. He spent several years camping in Birchwood, WI boating, fishing and enjoying time with his parents and family. He enjoyed playing cribbage. Special thanks to his cribbage buddies, Craig and Geno, for continuing to visit him to play cribbage at home when his health prevented him from getting out. And anyone who knew Wayne knows he was a diehard Packer fan. He was happy to attend a couple of Packer games in person.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dean, paternal grandparents Roy and Lillian Anderson, maternal grandparents George Sr and Marion Lyga, as well as several aunts and uncles.
Wayne's memory will forever remain in the hearts of his mother, Doris; step-children, Paul Hahn, Alex (Mandy) Hahn, Steven Nelson; Siblings, Charlene Anderson, Steve (Ann) Anderson, Greg Anderson (Denise Baken), and Stacie Anderson (Kent Johnson); aunts and uncles, Charlie (Gayle) Anderson, Ethel Lyga, Evelyn Lyga, Sheila Lyga, Mary Ann (Tom) Bender; nieces and nephews, Kae (Jerome), Thomas, John (Emily), Aaron, Brandon (Kaitlin), Ciara, Felicia (Dusty), as well as several cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tiffany and his nurse, Lois (Wayne's cousin) for their wonderful care over the years. A special thanks to his neighbors, Mary and Alice, for helping him, bringing him food, and having good coffee chats. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the Mayo Osseo staff who cared for him during his last days.
A celebration of life service for Wayne will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo, WI. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

I am sorry for your loss. I got the pleasure of meeting "Turbo" at London Dialysis. He was quite the character. I may of only been there 10 minutes to do my job but I would make a point to seek him out just to say "hi" and to "hold the fort down". He was the highlight of my day. R.I.P Turbo.
