Daniel "Danny" Thompson

Daniel "Danny" LeRoy Thompson, 32, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2026.

Danny was born May 29, 1993, to LeRoy "Buzz" Thompson and Lori Jo Evenson, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Danny grew up in Osseo, Wisconsin, attended Osseo-Fairchild Schools, and graduated from high school in 2011. He started his lifetime passion and career by dismantling his first truck at age 12. It was his first Chevy purchased with lawn mowing wages. First jobs were Super Valu clerk and Midwest Marine and Off-road technician. He was self-taught and worked his way through a 14.5-year automotive technician career at Osseo Automotive. His jobs included ambulance maintenance and repair. His final project was a total rebuild of an ambulance.

Danny's hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and ATVing. He was highly creative, producing artistic and imaginative drawings, especially drawing cars with precise detail.

Danny loved his community and was willing to help whenever and wherever needed. He was a dedicated member of the Osseo Rural Fire Department, always responding as needed whenever he could. He was a charter member and first Chaplain of Squadron 324 of the Sons of the American Legion and life member of Osseo Rod and Gun Club.

Danny was a loved and loyal family member, consistently participating in family events and was admired by his nieces and nephew. Children and animals were drawn to Danny.

Danny's memory will forever be cherished by his parents, Lori Jo Evenson (Jeff Faanes) and LeRoy "Buzz" Thompson; twin brother Denver (younger by 29 minutes) Thompson, and brother Dylan (Alexes) Evenson with their children - nieces Aubrey and Madilynn and nephew Westonn. He will be missed by his faithful dog, Leinie, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Clifford and Alice Evenson and Earl and Marjorie Thompson.

Celebration of life open house for Danny will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 7th at Osseo Rural Fire Department. 50965 Industrial Road, Osseo Wisconsin, following a private family service.
