Billy Clarence Cecil, lovingly known as Bill, was born on July 14, 1941, to Burness and Dora (Williams) Cecil in Lutie, Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Osseo, Wisconsin.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was the proud father of seven children, grandfather to twenty grandchildren, and blessed with numerous great-grandchildren who brought him great joy throughout his life.
He was a graduate of Wilburton High School, Class of 1959, and later attended Barber College. He dedicated 53 years to his profession as a barber, serving generations of families, and also worked for more than 20 years as a Rural Route Carrier.
Bill honorably served eight years in the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
On June 25, 1990, Bill married the love of his life, June Kitchens, and together they shared many years of faith, service, and devotion to family and community.
Bill was deeply involved in service work, volunteering with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief on Mud-Out projects and Chainsaw Crews. He took pride in maintaining chainsaws and trailers to support disaster response efforts. His hobbies included woodworking in his shop, participating in craft shows, and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed.
A faithful member of Centerpoint Baptist Church, Bill served on numerous church and community committees. He also served with the Kiamichi Housing Authority, and the Robbers Cave Fall Festival Committee, reflecting his lifelong commitment to community involvement.
Bill was a Freemason for 50 years and attained the 33rd Degree of the Scottish Rite.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, June Cecil; sons Jeff Cecil, Greg Cecil, and Roland Nixon; daughters Kim Green, Shelly Spangler, Kelly Garcia, and Kim Pick; and brother John Cecil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burness and Dora Cecil; his brother, Bob Cecil; and his in-laws, Dorothy and Cecil Kitchens.
The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the Jones Harkins Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026 at Center Point Baptist Church with Pastor Byron Vinson officiating. The burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Jones Harkins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill's name to the Sans Bois Baptist Association, 31233 West Highway 31, Kinta, OK 74552. Please note on the memo line "Bill Cecil." All designated funds will support the Chainsaw Crew for the purchase of new chains and equipment.
