Wayne David Barker, a longtime resident of Seymour, Missouri, passed away on September 18, 2025, at Copper Rock Healthcare in Rogersville, Missouri, at the age of 101.
Wayne was born on July 29, 1924, in Nixa, Missouri, to Roy and Mable (Silvey) Barker.
After attending Seymour High School, Wayne joined the United States Navy in 1943. He served on the Battleship Mississippi until the end of World War II.
In 1947, Wayne began his career with Frisco Railroad where he continued to work through its transition to Burlington Northern. He retired in 1988.
Wayne was united in marriage to Mollie Pearl Barker on August 7, 1949. Mollie preceded him in death on January 8, 2018. He was also preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Wayne is survived by several nieces and nephews.
