Wayne Douglas Clark, 60, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
He was born on March 9, 1964, in Staunton, to Wayne Douglas Clark, Sr. and the late Shirley Anne Dean Crouch.
Wayne proudly served as a pilot for Chitaqua Airlines, and was also a flight instructor in Weyers Cave. After his time spent in the skies he worked in transportation as a driver for Walkers. Most recently he worked for Xfinity.
Beyond his professional life he lived life with a deep love for his family and his passions. He found joy in the simple things, whether it was restoring cars, spending time with his sons, or a peaceful day fishing. He will most be remembered as a loving father.
In addition to his father, Wayne Douglas Clark, Sr. he is survived by his stepmother, Bettie Turner Clark; Gerri Clark; his sons, Wade and Jett Clark; his sisters, Sharon Moore and her husband, Mitch and Karen Vereen and her husband, Russell.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Anne Dean Crouch.
A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Henry Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 7, 2024, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Theresa Moore officiating the service.
A graveside service will immediately follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Robin Tinsley, Tony Martin, Steve Epperly, Brian Puffenbarger, Nathan Sheffer, Logan Carbajal and Landon Baker.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association (7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX. 75231).
