Wayne G Cleaves
2/28/1948-7/2/2025 77 years old
Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather Wayne peacefully passed away surrounded by his
family after a brief illness. Wayne spent a lot of his childhood with his grandparents in Guilford,
Maine and would fondly talk about the farm, doing homework by a kerosene lantern, and the
cookstove in the kitchen. Wayne graduated from Old Orchard High School. Wayne and Patricia,
the love of his life, married on the same day she graduated high school in 1967. They then
moved to the family farm in Guilford where they started their family. After a few years they
returned to southern Maine and eventually bought a home in Gray in 1976 where he and his
wife reside to this day. Wayne loved camping and would always make sure there was a summer
vacation with time spent on a lake. Wayne worked at Crosby-Laughlin for 20 years until they
closed then at different companies running their shipping receiving departments. Wayne is
predeceased by his brother Blaine, sister Jane, mother Alice, and stepfather William. He is
survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia; sons Paul (Pam), Mike (Debbie), and David (Christa),
and five grandchildren, Ashley, Jenny, Robbie, Zeb, and Isaiah.
Wayne was a member of the North Windham Union Church and had previously been a member
of the Good Shepherd UMC in Gray.
