Wayne Dunn, 92, beloved Husband, Son, Father, and Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on November 20, 2025. He entered this world on February 27, 1933 in Morgantown, WV, born to Clarence and Mary Dunn. He had seven brothers and three sisters.

Wayne graduated from the University High School in 1952 and worked for different coal mines in West Virginia until 1953 when he joined the Air Force. Wayne was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota. While in Rapid City, he started working for 7-UP Bottle Company where he met JoAnn Niemcyk. Wayne was discharged from the Air Force in 1957 and married JoAnn shortly after. After their marriage, they moved to Upton where Wayne drove for VanCamp and then worked for Upton Co-op for several years. In 1961, they moved to the Clareton area and Wayne started work for TrueOil as a production foreman for 14 years. They then moved to Newcastle in 1974 and started Newcastle Tank Inc., where they built oil storage tanks until 1987.

Wayne was a well known fiddle player and played all over the county For 20 years, Wayne, Jerry Nordeen, Les Farnsworth, Dale Watts, and occasionally Bobby Gould had a band called "Wyoming Playboys" where they played at bars, dance halls, lakes, camps, parades, and many other benefits. Wayne also ran his own music show in South Dakota. Being a very talented fiddle player, Wayne placed third in trick fiddling at the National Fiddling Contest. Wayne always enjoyed working, welding, working on old cars and playing the fiddle as well as being active with IOOF.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn Dunn; daughters Connie (Rick) Riesland and Cheryl (Monnie) Payne; son David Dunn; sister Julie Cole; brothers Art Dunn and Van Dunn, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and 6 btothers.

Memorial service for Wayne will be held December 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Weston County Senior Center. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in Wayne's name to the Newcastle Verterans Memorial.
