Wayne Herbert Fulford, Sr., 95
Okeechobee – Wayne Herbert Fulford, Sr. died May 19, 2024. He was born March 10, 1929 in Bonifay, Florida. A lifetime resident of Okeechobee, he loved his family, hunting, flying his plane, he was an excellent pilot, and playing poker with his friends for many years.
As a master mechanic, he owned and operated the OK Garage for many years. After selling the garage, he became a realtor, broker, and state appraiser. In his later years, he built and repaired computers for friends and businesses in town. Over the last ten years, his favorite activity was rocking on the back porch with his faithful dog and best friend, Louie, watching the turkeys and deer wander through the backyard and pasture.
Mr. Fulford was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Ellen Burk Fulford; four brothers, Randall, Murray, Horace, and Gene; and parents, C.A. and Madeline.
He is survived by his sons, Wayne H. Fulford, Jr., of Sebastian, Florida, and Timothy Scott Fulford (Sondra) of Okeechobee, Florida; daughter, Janet Gayle Fulford, of Royal Palm Beach, Florida; four grandchildren, Mallori Degirolarmo, Brooke Cebreco (Eddy), Troy Fulford, and Ryan Fulford (Laura); two great grandchildren, Aubrey Degirolarmo and Mia Fulford; and sister, Ruth Watford, of Okeechobee, Florida.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
