Wayne Norbert Garrett

Wayne Garrett, age 70, passed away on November 15, 2025 at his home in Oakdale, MN. He was born on June 1, 1955 in St. Paul, MN, the third child of Henry and Ellen (Swanson) Garrett. He began his education at Sheridan Elementary and completed his schooling when he graduated from Tartan High School in 1973.
For over 40 years, Wayne worked for various printing companies as a printer operator, retiring from the profession in 2018. He owned and operated his own DJ and Video business as well. He was an avid computer gamer (EverQuest being his game of choice) and was also an extremely accomplished photographer; he could cook a pretty tasty steak (filet mignon) and pizza (homemade), too.
Wayne had a strong will (it might have caused some people to call him "stubborn" but it caused his son-in-law to call him "Superman") and a wonderful sense of humor (if you were feeling down, he could always come up with a way to make you smile); both attributes got him through some serious health issues and kept him with us for an extra 6 years.
Wayne is survived by his wife Sue; daughter Kimber (Ace) Whitman-Marzano; son Karl (Shanna Chaffee) Garrett; brother Stephen Garrett; sisters Lenore (Mark) Cortez and Jenny (Dan) Marier, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ellen Garrett.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held Friday, November 21 at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior at Oakwood Celebrate Life, 2585 Stillwater Rd. E., Maplewood, MN 55119. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery.
