Wayne Gauthier

Allenstown – Wayne C. Gauthier, 74, of Allenstown, passed away surrounded with love on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 only one week after celebrating his birthday with family.
He was born in Franklin, NH on February 19, 1951, son of the late August and Justine (Rollins) Gauthier.
Spiritually grounded from the age of 16 at Sant Bani Ashram, Wayne carried his spiritual principles throughout his life and work. Despite his lack of extensive formal education Wayne was an extremely talented and knowledgeable tradesman with a sharp intellect. He specialized in the restoration of colonial homes and he was brilliant at fine finish carpentry. At age 71 Wayne's passion and artistic vision for colonial home restoration culminated in his final work of art. An 18th century farmhouse in Andover, NH that was featured in New Hampshire Home magazine, in which he said, "I just find them interesting. Colonial houses, there's something new to figure out with everything you do on them. They're not level and they're not square, everything is a challenge. I love that. I was able to put everything I learned my whole life into that house. All aspects of it. The key to what I do is, when you walk away, you should never know that I was even there."
Wayne's favorite activities included motorcycle riding and visiting the Great North Woods with his family and always had a passion for helping people. In recent years Wayne loved escaping the cold with trips to Mexico to visit a family that he had grown extremely fond of over the years. One of his favorite things over the last two years has been his time with his great grandson Theo and more recently his new great granddaughter Ellie. Even at the age of 73 you would find him climbing the jungle gym to chase after two year old Theo.
Wayne's life was not without it's struggles. In his mid 30's he found relief from addiction in the fellowship of NA. For most of the rest of his life he practiced recovery and taught others to do the same through sponsoring and mentoring, helping to save many lives.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Bruce, Donald and David Gauthier.
He will be remembered by his four daughters, Angel Boyd and her husband Michael of Hooksett, Charity Stevens and her husband Christian of Northwood, Freedom Mussari and her husband Anthony of Middleton and Destiny Storo and her husband Ryan of Concord, one brother, Richard "Dickie" Gauthier of Maine, seven grandchildren, Devon Snell and his wife Liz, Rachel Snell, Aidan Boyd, Shaun and Julia Stevens, Liberty and Amerigo Mussari, two great grandchildren, Theodore and Eleanor Snell as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2PM at Sant Bani Ashram in Sanbornton with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory should be made to the Pyareo Home in Sanbornton. https://pyareohome.org/
