Mr. Wayne Goins, age 79, of Triune, Tennessee, died suddenly Wednesday, August 7, 2024 in Franklin, Tennessee. Mr. Goins was born in Robbinsville, North Carolina and was a son of the late Joseph Edward and Florence Irene Johnson Goins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, David Goins, Joyce Waller, Lula Long, Alvin Goins and Robert Goins.
Wayne was a member of Triune Baptist Church in Triune, Tennessee and served on the Board of Directors of Triune Cemetery. He retired as a manager for AT&T in Nashville. Later, he went to work for the United States Postal Service, from where he again retired. Wayne enjoyed many sports and was an avid UT fan.
Mr. Goins is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tammy Goins, Triune, TN; children, Scott (Serena) Goins, Murfreesboro, TN; Kim English, Brentwood, TN; sisters, Jo Ann Mott, Hawthorne, NJ, Barbara (Tommy) Eason, Nashville, TN, Cathy Goins, Hawthorne, NJ; brothers, Billy (Karen) Goins, Eagleville, TN, Jack Goins, Franklin, TN, Sammy (Colleen) Goins, White House, TN; grandchildren, Dylan (Abbey) Goins, Jagger Goins, Mia Goins, Hayden English, Jackson English, Connor English, and Will “WO” English.
Family members will receive friends on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Triune Baptist Church 8094 Horton Hwy., Arrington, TN. Visitation will also be on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11 AM until 1 PM at the church. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM at Triune Baptist Church with Rev. Reed Buntin and Rev. Jeffrey Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Triune Cemetery.
The grandchildren of Mr. Wayne will serve as pallbearers.
