Wayne Goltl Obituary

He married Dixie Rathburn in 1954. To that union they had one daughter, Dana. He went into the Army and was stationed in Chicago with a radar unit where he helped build 2-24' wood radar towers.
The first house Wayne built was for his parents on the farm in 1951. Wayne started his construction company in 1961. In 1968 he opened Home Planning Center. He built around 200 houses in the Oberlin area and remodeled many homes and businesses. He also built 3 churches, one in Oberlin, Jennings and Smith Center. Wayne loved old cars and loved going to car shows. He won many awards with his cars. Wayne enjoyed going camping in Colorado at Lake Isabell. Wayne was a member of Mini Sappa Antique Club, Decatur Saddle Club, National Impala Association and had the longest standing membership with the Oberlin Lyons Club since 1961.
Wayne is survived by his daughter: Dana Marintzer; brother: Roger Goltl; brother-in-law: Larry (Jackie) Rathburn and many nieces and nephews. Wayne has preceded in death by his parents; wife: Dixie; brother: Ralph Goltl; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Goltl, and Beverley Goltl; son-in-law: Marlin Marintzer.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Plumer - Gobber Funeral Home, Oberlin, KS at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be Tuesday May 20, 2025, at the Plumer - Gobber Funeral Home from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Oberlin Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made out to Oberlin Lions Club or Decatur County Museum. Condolences can be left at www.plumergobber.com
