Wayne Bruce "WaynerThe Legend" Harding

Wayne B. Harding, 73, of Owego, NY, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, surrounded by his family. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Richard Harding. Wayne is survived by his mother, Irene Harding; daughter, Tarrah Koehler (Dave); grandchildren, Brenden Russell, Brittney Williams (Ian), Kyle Russell (Mandy), Kaden Russell (Sara), Madison Sims (Noah); great-granddaughter, Aliyah Williams; brother, Terry Harding (Kathy); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many beloved friends.

Born October 21, 1952, Wayne, affectionately known as Wayner, was often referred to as "the legend" by many of his friends and anyone lucky enough to know him knew exactly why. He was a Jeopardy and Trivia wizard, the kind of guy who seemed to know everything (and usually did). He had a deep passion for music, you could often find him a good concert, a GrassRoots festival, and most definitely in the crowd of one of his very favorite bands "Here Come the Mummies"!

Wayne loved all the adventures of life from traveling the world with his family or by himself with just a backpack, to just simply taking a stroll through his back yard to his pond. His past adventures provided him with so many stories! He most definitely lived his life to the fullest.

Above all, Wayne was incredibly proud of his family. He spoke of them often, carrying that pride with him where he went. His legacy lives on in the stories told, the music played a little louder, the trivia questions confidently answered, and the sunsets appreciated just a bit more deeply.

Wayner wasn't just a man….

Some would say he was "The man, the myth, the legend". And he will be so deeply missed.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 7th from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 4:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, New York with Pastor Jay Geistdorfer, officiating.
