Richard Joseph Duffy

Richard Duffy, 95, of Nichols, New York, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. Richard was predeceased by his son, Timothy Duffy; sister, Shirley Planishek; three brothers, James Duffy, Jack Duffy, Donald Duffy. He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Patricia Duffy; five children and their spouses, Michael and Jennifer Duffy, Nancy and Michael Staudt, Kevin Duffy, Terry and Lucy Duffy, Christopher and Kristen Duffy; nine grandchildren, Andrea (Michael) Lettiere, Sabrina Duffy, Kimberly (Eric) Zweirlein, Natalie Duffy (Joshua Aquirre), Amanda (Nick) Smith, Timothy Duffy, Roan Duffy, Fineas Duffy, Kellan Duffy; five great-grandchildren, Jameson, Marshall, Winston, Benjamin, Nathan; brother, William Duffy; sister, Elaine Wheeler; several nieces and nephews. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from IBM Corp., Owego, NY and in his retirement enjoyed mowing lawns. Richard was very community minded and a member of St. Patrick's Church and St. James Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 5th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 300 Main Street, Owego, New York. A private burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
