Wayne R. Hill, 86, of Ontelaunee Twp., passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 in the Lutheran Home at Topton where he resided since August 2, 2023. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Lash) Hill. They were married on July 18, 1959 and celebrated sixty-four years of marriage.
Born in Greenwich Twp., he was the son of the late Wayne S. and Stella P. (Kerchner) Hill. Wayne was a supervisor at Glidden Paint Co., which then became ICI, until retiring in 1997. He attended Becker's St. Peter's Church, Molltown. Wayne enjoyed golfing in the senior league at Perry Golf Course. He also enjoyed playing cards, pinochle with the guys at the Virginville Hotel, going to hear country music, and casinos.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Carol A. (Hill) Ralston, wife of Christopher, Minersville; Nancy L. (Hill) Holland, wife of Keith, Fleetwood; and Archie L. Hill, husband of JoAnne, Kutztown; six grandchildren: Chris Schaeffer, Patrick Schaeffer, Josh Schaeffer (Katie), Justin Schaeffer, Daniel Schaeffer and Jennifer Schwegler (Shawn); and five great-grandchildren: Blake, Jemma and Weston Schaeffer; Abigail Schwegler and Jonathan Schwegler. Wayne is also survived by two brothers: Carl Hill (Linda), Muhlenberg Twp.; and Warren Hill (Janet), Kutztown. He was predeceased by a brother: Ernest Hill, husband of Linda, Blandon.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Becker's St. Peter's Cemetery, Molltown. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Saturday 9:00 to 10:30 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of your choice.
