Wayne Holloway

CEDAR GROVE: Wayne Holloway, 89 years young, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025 after 8 months with kidney cancer at his home in Cedar Grove. Wayne was born in Orange County, NC to the late Shell Allen and Vera Walker Holloway on October 26, 1935.
Raised on Pleasant Green Road in Orange County, he attended Hillsborough High School. Wayne was self employed at Wayne Holloway Electric. He contracted work at Duke University and employed nephews and friends while there. He made a great impact on their lives. Wayne loved living in Orange County with his family by his side. He did mechanic work and taught his son and grandchildren a lot about hard work.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Holloway is also predeceased by his daughter, Brenda Holloway Jernagin (March 31, 2018); son, Danny Wayne Holloway (Aug. 9, 2020); grandson, Jamie Lynn Holloway (Nov. 7, 2024); and 8 brothers and sisters.
Mr. Holloway is survived by his wife of 69 and a half years, Peggy C. Holloway; daughter, Teresa Ann Holloway; grandchildren, Mitzi Blake Goss, Steven Andrew Spoon, Christopher Wayne Holloway, Kimberly Ann Holloway, Danny Wayne Holloway Jr.; great-grandchildren, Morgan Holloway, Tyler Goss, Hunter Spoon, Trevor Goss, Landon Holloway, Karie Holloway, Chance Holloway, Austin Holloway, Kristen Holloway, Callie Chalfant, Greyson Williamson-Holloway; great-great grandchild, Levi Alexander Hall, Maisie Jae Spoon; Christian Holloway; brother, Elry Holloway; sisters, Alice Delozier, Joyce Trickey; and numerous other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 28th at Clements Funeral Chapel in Hillsborough. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crabtree Holloway Family Cemetery (Formerly the old Five Forks Baptist Church).
