Wayne Russell Kopp Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Russell Kopp, Sr., will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Shane David officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery, Fishville, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Kopp, 90, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
He was a native of New Philadelphia, Ohio. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force with twenty-eight years of service to his country. Thereafter, he went on to retire as a Federal Credit Union Examiner. He was an all-sports referee, an avid golfer, and enjoyed bowling. He loved retirement and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Smith Kopp; one son, Rusty Kopp; his parents, John and Wilhelmina Kopp; three brothers, Warner Kopp, Carl Kopp, and Howard Kopp; and one sister, Hazel Robb.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include two sons, Robbie Whalen (Julie) of Pollock, and Brian Kopp Sr. (Pam) of Pollock; three daughters, Melanie Kopp Hicks of Pollock, Darlene Lebold of Destin, Florida, and Eileen Baker (Gary) of Tioga; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: John Lebold, Jr., Levi Whalen, Gary Baker, Jr., Brian Kopp, Jr., Dylan Kopp, Dalton Kopp, Niles Paul, and Jaden Higgs. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Regard and Jamey Johnson.
