Wayne Alan Leaver

Wayne Alan Leaver, cherished friend, and proud veteran of the United States Navy, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 74. Born on October 21, 1950, in Rhode Island, Wayne lived a life marked by service, faith, and camaraderie.

Wayne dedicated 20 years of his life to the United States Navy, retiring with honor and distinction. During his illustrious career, he was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal, reflecting his unwavering commitment to his country.

A devout Catholic, Wayne's faith was an anchor throughout his life, guiding his actions and relationships. Though he may not have been a member of a local church, his devotion to his faith was evident to all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, whose memory he cherished dearly. Wayne leaves behind a large host of beloved friends who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and steadfast loyalty.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal services. Wayne will be laid to rest with the honor befitting a sailor, as he is buried at sea at a later date.
