Wayne was always open & friendly, a bright face to see at FHS, with stories & anecdotes to share. I am so grateful to have known him.

Wayne was my host dad when I stayed with the Mietty Family in 87-88. I quickly liked his peaceful kindness and the amazing energy with which he took me skiing purgatory or out to Bisti badlands finding petrofied wood. Also we were buddies in consuming coffee at all times. I was homesick around Christmas but when dad showed up Christmas morning as Santa he and all of the family made me feel so much at home. I will always cherish my memories, thank you and love always to the rest of the family

In the short time we knew Wayne he quickly became our "go to" guy to teach us the best ways to navigate all there was to enjoy in the mountains! He was always so happy and willing to help his friends. What a kind and lovely person he was.
Much love, comfort and peace to Sandy and family.

I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved husband , Sandy. Although I never met him, from what I´ve read, he was an advid adventurer and had a kind heart. Hopefully the lifetime of memories will give you comfort and a smile in your heart.
Virtual hugs, Your sister,
Cherie

Mr. Mietty was an amazing man, someone that you could talk too and he always had a smile on his face, he loved the great outdoors, especially when it snowed, he would tell me when he came into the bank, that he´s going skiing, I have no doubt in my mind that this is what he´s doing up in heaven, exactly what he loves. He will be truly missed by so many, Rocky and I are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers

Wayne's patience was always tested when we went fishing on Lake Panache in Canada. I asked him to put a worm on the hook, take the fish off the hook, get my hook out of the bush, or get my hook off the rock. I finally quit fishing, and I think he was relieved to fish in peace. We have so many wonderful memories in the last 58 years. Peace to you and the Family. Gary and Gloria
