Mr. Wayne Arthur Nipple, age 98, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Manor Lake Assisted Living of Hiram.
He was born March 10, 1926 in Brodhead, Wisconsin, son of the late William Nipple and the late Mable Vighdal Nipple. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II from 1944-1946.
He retired from the United States Postal Service and was of the Lutheran faith. He and his wife were world travelers and also snowbirds, living 6 months in Wisconsin and 6 months in Florida. Early on in his career, he was a car mechanic for a local auto dealer and enjoyed car racing. He was a hugh music fan having played and collected guitars. Having owned several airplanes, he had earned his pilot's license and also his commerical license. He got to tour monuments in Washington, D.C., by air with his son.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Webb; and two sons-in-law, James Webb and Steve Fleming.
Survivors include his wife, NoraBelle Rose Hawkins Nipple; daughter, Jocelyn Webb; son Larry (Norma) Nipple; three brothers, Willis (Catherine) Nipple, Warren (Penny) Nipple and Gary (Connie) Niles; four grandchildren, Treena (Michael) Webb, Terrence Webb, Rebecca (James) Briggs and Sarah (Donald) Day; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
