Stephen Wayne Peebles of Sugar City, Idaho passed away in an accident on October 10th, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

Wayne was born on November 1, 1963 to Stephen and Myrna Peebles in Rexburg, Idaho. He attended South Fremont High School where he wrestled, played football and was also apart of the 4H program and local rodeo. After High School he met and married Pamela Blanchard and became a father to two energetic boys, Brandon and Jason. Corbet and Sharee were quickly added to the family after which the family moved and settled in the Sugar City area to raise their family.

He started at Stones as a teen lube tech but then moved to mechanic. Luthy's was next, then Madison County, and finally as a master truck modifier at Grover's All Wheel in Rigby. Wayne was known throughout many counties as a person who could be counted on to fix anything from tractors to all kinds of farm equipment. He was an extremely hard worker and would save up his vacation time to go and work during the potato harvest for the Schwendiman family, where he continued working for more than 3 decades. He loved the farming life, mostly those with whom he worked with. It was always "call Wayne to come and see what he thinks" if there was a problem.

Besides his grandchildren and attending their sporting events, Wayne was passionate about horses. He was a true cowboy and born out of his time. His knowledge and expertise on both training and riding was only rivaled by his brother Todd. Many horses in the area were trained by Wayne. He was always the one called if there was a difficult horse to break because he could always figure out a way to tame them. He loved taking his grandkids on horse rides and they all looked forward to go riding at Grandpa's.

Wayne is survived by his 3 sons. Brandon (Liz) Peebles, Jason (Patricia) Peebles, and Corbet (Tashia) Peebles, and 14 grandchildren. His brothers, Darwin (Val), Todd, and Jared.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Myrna Peebles, and his only daughter, Sharee Peebles.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday October 15th, 2025 at LDS grey church in Sugar City at 6 N Teton Ave. His family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening October 14th from 5:30-7pm at Flamm Funeral Home and 10-10:45 prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. Following the service the burial will be at the Teton/Newdale cemetery.
